INFORMATION
The Ottawa Rowing Club was founded in 1867 and is the oldest rowing club in Canada. ORC was an active member of the Ottawa regatta cicuit in the 1890s. They were in regular attendance at Ottawa Canoe Club's annual regatta, competing in the C15 events, usually in their club boat christened "Red Elephant." The Red Elephant took first prize in the 1891, 1893 and 1894 C15 events. By 1902, ORC was entering athletes in the double blade (kayak) races. When the Canadian Canoe Association was conceived in 1900, ORC was not a part of the charter members but did attend the championship regatta in Brockville as there was both a rowing fours and a quarter mile swim race on the following Monday as part of the Bohemian Club's regatta.

INFORMATION
The Argonaut Rowing Club was one of three boating clubs originally located in the inner Toronto Harbour along with the Royal Canadian Yacht Club and the Toronto Canoe Club. The buildings were forced to relocate in the 1930s due to the Harbour Commission's waterfront redevelopment which found the ARC relocate along with the Toronto Canoe Club to Humber Bay. Argonaut competed in the very first canoeing events at the Dominion Day regatta in 1896, winning gold in the very first Dominion Day C15 race. They medalled again in 1898 and 1901 before eventually focusing wholly on rowing.

The Leander Boat Club was founded as the Leander Rowing Club in 1877 and ceased operations in 1895. During that time, the club was a member of the American Canoe Association sometime after 1889 although it is unclear as to what extent they may have competed in local canoeing circles. After successive clubs (Nautilus Club, Hamilton Rowing Club) opened and closed, the current incarnation, the Leander Boat Club, was firmly established in 1927.

INFORMATION
The Don Rowing Club was a member of the American Canoe Association sometime after 1889 although it is unclear as to what extent they may have competed in local canoeing circles. The original club was located, not surprisingly, on the banks of the Don River in Toronto, however, persistent flooding of the river prompted them to reloacte permanently to the Credit River in Mississauga.
