INFORMATION
The Sack-a-Wa Canoe Club has provided sprint canoeing and kayaking since 1980, serving all three Sackville communities north of Halifax. The club was incorporated in 1980 and built its clubhouse in 1982, although the club’s beginnings date back to the Kinsmen centre in 1978. After some time away from the CCA during the 1990s, Sack-a-Wa rejoined in 2004. Sack-a-Wa translates as “Sackville on the water” (a name submitted by 11-year old contest winner Shaun Smith) and the club regularly hosts the Sack-a-Wa Triathlon. Original Colours: Gold and Purple.
