The
South
Niagara Canoe Club was founded in 2008
in an effort to utilise the wonderful Welland Canal course
to greater effect. Encompassing the cities of Welland
and Port Colborne (several times hosting National and
Divisional Championships), South Niagara have had a great
start. The club continues a paddling tradition in Niagara
dating back to the Welland
Canoe Club at the turn of the century.
For the first few years they rented out space from the
South Niagara Rowing Club until a compound was built in
behind the International Flatwater Centre.
