INFORMATION |
The
Sudbury
Canoe Club was revived in 2003 through the
efforts of Jim Dickson and Gergely Lanci, having been originally
formed in 1902. The club won the North American Championships
on several occasions since their second “founding”
in 1925 and enjoyed district status at CCA for some years.
Originally the Sudbury
Boating Club, Sudbury was originally
in the Northern Division from at least 1929 but moved to
the Western Ontario Division in 1967. They left the CCA
sometime in the 1980s (still present on the program in 1984).
Today, the club offers canoeing, kayaking, dragon boat and
board sailing. A new building was constructed in 2016 incorporating
the canoe club, rowing club and other organisations together
as the Northern Water Sports Centre. |

SUDBURY
CANOE CLUB SONG
Stand
up and cheer
for the red, white and blue
The colours of the
North Land
That's Sudbury to you
We're the best paddling
club in the land
So come on Sudbury,
get up and stand.
Cheer loud and long
for old S.C.C.
Long may her paddlers
bring victory
Other clubs may rise,
but fall
For Sudbury's
ahead of them all.
