INFORMATION
The "Famous" Flin Flon Canoe Club was founded in 1957 with prominent members such as Gib McEachern and Norm Crerar. Records indicate that the club joined the Canadian Canoe Association in 1961 although McEachern had won a bronze medal at the 1960 national championships (the club was probably referred to as "Manitoba" in the CCA program). Members of the club, along with Winnipeg's Don Starkell, entered a boat (the Radisson) in the 1967 Centennial Pageant, a cross-canada marathon which they won. Soon after this, the club folded from competition.
