The
Greater
Edmonton Racing Canoe/Kayak Club was started
by Joanne Devlin-Morrison, Rick Hill and Cathy Hill in
2002 as an extension of the St.
Albert Canoe & Kayak Club and joined CCA
in 2004. (GERCKC's website states 1986) Greater Edmonton
operates strictly as a sprint racing club with a growing
number of youths and masters. The club operated out of
Laurier Park on the North Saskatchewan and used the same
facilities as the Edmonton Whitewater
Paddlers until another move in 2018 to Cardiff
Pond north of Edmonton. They also use Kirk Lake in conjunction
with St. Albert who now calls Cardiff Pond home. GERCK
currently operates back on the North Saskatchewan in the
Northeast River Valley Park.
