The
Kinap
Athletic Club has focussed on sprint racing
in canoe and kayak since its founding in 1982 by Ralph
“Jigger” Mott. Although the club maintained
brief stints as CCA members in the 80s and 90s, competitive
racing returned in 1999 before re-entry into the CCA in
2003. “Kinap” itself is a Mi’Kmaq word
meaning “faster, stronger, cunning.”
