INFORMATION

The Northwest Arm Rowing Club was founded around 18??... and was part of the racing circuit in 1906 involving the Halifax Boating Club and Lorne Aquatic Club. Located at the foot of South Street, the club folded in the mid 20th century with the building being demolished to make way for new subdivisions. One of NWARC's tandem pairs, Burton and Martin, won the Arthur Weston 10-mile race in 1936 and the club regularly hosted multi-discipline regattas on the Arm. Much like the Jubilee Club, the site of the NWARC is now a public boat launch.
