The
Pemberton
Canoe Association has achieved much
success with its dragon boat crews since 1997 and have
now branched into sprint canoeing and kayaking north
of Whistler, B.C. Head Coach Hugh Fisher has helped
to develop the Pemberton training program from its inception.
Permanent facilities are slowly emerging as part of
the Pemberton Canoe Association. The success of Pemberton
is closely associated with Hugh Fisher's efforts in
the region. The Whistler Canoe Club formed
in 1991 on Alta Lake (site of the 1998 CCA Championships)
which served the Pemberton community for several years,
although the club was never a member of the CCA.
