INFORMATION |
The
White
Raven Canoe & Kayak Club originated
in 1965 as a marathon club when four white men raced with
the Nanaimo Indians on Cultus Lake. The four founders were
Ted Barsby Jr., Wally Robinson, Marvil Schlitz and Bob Pederson.
They joined the CCA from 1986-1990, and continue to regroup
and race periodically. In 1988, the club was known as Nanaimo
White Raven Olympic Canoe Club with
entries in local regattas. It is unclear of the NWROCC as
affiliated with the fledgling Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak
Club. |
