INFORMATION |
The
Mohawk
Canoe Club was founded in 1958 by Mike Moir,
Bill Dinsmore and Bill Pitt. The club lost their water course
when the city reclaimed lake area for Spencer Smith Park.
Mohawk eventually merged with Oakville
Racing Canoe Club in 1989 to form the
Burloak Canoe Club
thanks to the help of Andy Jackson, Bill Hersey and Brian
Bliss. Members were called the “Mohawks.”
