The
Montreal Gazette, Aug 9, 1948, reports that Lachine
is the first club to win six championships. (This
also happened in 1932 with four championships) This
ignores Toronto Canoe Club's 7-year championship
run from 1908-1914. It can be assumed that the reporters
are only including years since the burgee was first
presented to the winning club (1927).

sees the first mention of a 'divisional' burgee, which
Lachine had won as far back as 1943. This has yet to be
verified.
