* There were only two official member clubs in the Western Division in 1908: Toronto CC and Island AAA. Other unaffiliated clubs competed alongside with them at a Divisional "qualifying" meet simply to "make a regatta of it." Only Parkdale joined the Division as a result, despite threats from the CAAU about the professionalisation of paddlers.

** The 1942 Divisionals were raced as part of the Royal Henley regatta

Parkdale Canoe Club
Donated 1935. Billy Slean was a well-loved trainer, confidant and friend of the Parkdale Canoe Club, former hockey coach and sportsman, who died in December 1934. From the founding of the Parkdale Canoe Club in 1905 Billy was more than trainer of its paddlers. Every athlete who ever wore the green and white remembers the spirit and enthusiasm which he gave to the boys in victory or defeat. The club hockey and rugby teams as well as the crews were in his charge and for the last eight years, until the time of his death. He was made a life member of Parkdale in 1926. (Toronto Star, July 16, 1935)
