INFORMATION
The Oakville Racing Canoe Club was founded in 1974 by Bill Collins and Dorothy Jamieson. The club occupied a former sewage treatment plant through to the merger with the Mohawk Canoe Club in 1989 when the Burloak Canoe Club was formed. The Oakville club was the main site until the construction of a new boathouse in 1994. The club's original colours are listed as orange with blue and white in several club regatta programs, up to and including 1983. It may be a simple coincidence that these were the same colours of the defunct White Oaks Canoe Club which folded in 1974.
