Below are listed, where known, the champion clubs of the Atlantic Division (Halifax/Dartmouth-centred). The clubs in this division were originally awarded District status as of 1956. The Maritime Division was officially formed in 1956. If and when other divisional champions become known, they will be added to this list.

ATLANTIC DIVISION CHAMPIONS

* The Congdon Trophy was awarded to the Status Regatta Aggregate Points Champion beginning in 1947.
** The Atlantic Division did not tabulate points for many years until 2019. A decision togo back to a championship burgee was intended to encourage more entries in the qualification regatta.
1 These years are based on the Congdon Trophy aggregate championship - Banook won it 16 years straight until Senobe won in 1978 (August 9th article). Mic Mac is the only club who could have won before Banook's streak. The years 1962-63, 1974-77, although Banook won the Congdon, it is possible they may not have won the Qualifying regatta.
2 Although Cheema clearly won the most points in Midget-Senior events at Qualifying, Senobe won the Congdon trophy in both 1978 and 1979.
3 There appears to have been a separate "Provincial Championships" wedged in between Qualifying and Bantam Champs. In 1978, there was an exclusive Bantam/Midget championships two weeks before the actual Bantam Champs which served as qualification to the National Junior Olympics (run at the same regatta as divisional qualifying). In 1985, I have an article detailing Orenda's dominance at the "Qualifying" regatta, and another article showing Banook winning on points the "Provincial Championships" for Midget-Senior (not Bantam-Midget). By 1988, the Bantam Champs at the end of August are being referred to as the "Provincial Championships."

The Congdon Trophy was introduced at least in 1947 for the Inter-Club championship. This basically revolved around Banook, Mic Mac and sometimes St. Mary's until they left the division. Sometime before 1962, (likely 1957 when the qualifying regatta was initiated) the Congdon was officially awarded to the aggregate points winner across all status regattas leading up to Divisional qualification. This lasted until at least 1979 but it is not sure when this practice was discontinued or what happened to the trophy.
