Tabulation of Points
The Ottawa Citizen, Aug 7, 1909, incorrectly states that 5 points are awarded for a first and 3 for a second. This did not come into effect (actually 5/2/1) until 1928, thereby rendering the paper's point totals inaccurate. The Citizen also lists Rideau as having two "seconds" (6 points) even though their own list of race results only contains one second-place finish for Rideau. The Ottawa Journal, Aug 9, 1909, states that third place results receive no points, but definitely uses 3 points for first and 2 for second.
NB: The points used in "Canada's Sprint Canoe Clubs," (2006) are based on Senior/Junior events only from 1904 to 1915.

* The Gazette article mentions that the absence of the Lachine club is due to a greater focus on rowing for the season.

BACK TO MONTREAL REGATTA ??
It is possible that this regatta was a successor to the "Little CCA" which supposedly ceased in 1907.
