The
Ottawa Journal, August 8 1938, correctly awards
6 points to Carleton Place (1 first and 1 third)
and only 7 points to Island. Both the Montreal Gazette
and the Ottawa Citizen erroneously award 8 to Island
and 5 to Carleton Place.

NB:
The points for the Western Division do not include
the Mile War Canoe race which was postponed due to
rough winds. I have not been able to locate the results
of this final race. |

The
Inter-City Regatta, affectionately dubbed 'Little CCA,'
was originally staged in the 1900s, ceasing with a Grand
Trunk win in 1907. The tradition was reinstated in 1937. |

The
results published in the Ottawa Journal don't even match
the points totals cited in the article (parentheses). Using
the 5/2/1 point scoring system (which confirms ONECC's 7
and Brantwood's 6), there is no way Lachine could have scored
24 and Cartierville 13. |
